Is there more information avaiable on boarding, day care, and/or pet health?
Yes there is! Refer to the following PDF files for more information.
Let's Talk About Bloat
What is Kennel Cough?
Kennel cough is fairly common amongst dogs and can be highly contagious. The Kennel Cough virus is airborne and can easily be contracted if your pet is in vicinity of an infected dog. This virus is commonly contracted in areas, such as the groomer, veterinary offices, dog parks, and dog kennels. Its incubation period is between two to fourteen days. The main symptoms are coughing, nasal discharge, and sometimes sneezing.
How can I prevent my dog from getting Kennel Cough?
The administration of the Bordetella vaccination will help reduce the risk of infection. However, your dog still may contract the virus even if vaccinated as Kennel Cough can come in many different strains.
What vaccinations do my pets need?
Dogs: Bordetella, Rabies and DHPP
Cats: FVRCP and Rabies
Please note that all vaccinations must be given 24 hours prior to check in.
We cannot except your pet if they are not vaccinated with the above vaccines.
What happens if my pet gets injured while at your facility?
We will immediately contact you or your listed emergency contact. In the unlikely event that you cannot be reached, The BarkMore reserves the right to seek medical treatment at any veterinarian. All expenses incurred will be in the sole responsibility of the owner. If we contact you, we can use the vet of your choice but a veterinary transport fee may be applied.
What is included with boarding?
All pets will be provided with bedding and food and water bowls. All dogs will be put in designated potty yards and get the chance to relieve themselves every two to three hours.

Do you offer check in and check outs on the weekends?

Can I bring my pet’s own food for boarding?
Yes, we encourage it! We like all of our guests to stay on their normal feeding routine as they would at home! The BarkMore does carry house food at an additional $5.00 per meal if needed for your pet.
Can you administer medications to my pet during their stay?
Yes! We can administer tablets, capsules, supplements, injections, drops, and more. All medications administrations will result in a $5.00 fee per day. Please list all medications along with detailed instructions before your arrival.
Is there an age requirement for my puppy in order to join doggie daycare or board at your facility?
We require all puppies to be fully vaccinated with Bordetella, Rabies, and DHPP. Most puppies will receive these yearly vaccines during 12-14 weeks of age. We require all dogs to be spayed/neutered after 6 months of age in order to participate in daycare.
How can I make a reservation for boarding?
Give us a call! We require a deposit of $25 for all reservations. Some reservations may result in an additional $20 fee if boarding during major holidays.
How do I start my dog in the doggie day care program?
We require all dogs to go through a temperament test before joining. This test can be scheduled Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:00am and 9:00am. This test will entail one on one meet and greets with the other daycare players, meeting the staff, seeing what basic knowledge/skills your dog has, and to make sure The BarkMore is the right fit for your pup!
What if my dog doesn't pass the temperament test?
Unfortunately not every dog enjoys a doggie daycare setting and that's ok! We want to make sure all of our daycare attendees are enjoying their time here at The BarkMore. If your dog does not pass because of behavioral issues, we will refer you to a local trainer. We do not allow dogs with excessive jumping, biting, humping or barking issues as safety is the top priority at The BarkMore. Your pet always has the opportunity to be evaluated again in the future.
Why is my dog so tired after boarding or participating in daycare at The BarkMore?
Your pet may be tired after leaving The BarkMore. This is because most dogs don't get to be in this type of environment everyday. They may be enduring more exercise here than they may have when they are home.
Do you accept any other pets other than cats and dogs for boarding?
Yes! We can accommodate hamsters, guinea pigs, lizards, rats, and hedge hogs. Please call us for more details!
